Oasis Mall:

A collection of short stories about the history of a fictional mall :  When two young adults visit a dying mall on their road trip across America, they end up meeting its melancholic owner, Sanjay Raja. As it nears its 65th year anniversary, travelers Neo and Kelvin decide to make it their mission to archive any and all history they can unearth.Enter the world of the Oasis Mall in Tanho Arizona. Opened in 1961, the shopping complex has been home to 3 anchor units, an expansive food court, up to 90 stores, multiple luxurious fountains, an elevated walkthrough garden experience, and at a time, almost 700 statues. This novel intends to document not just the growth and decline of Oasis Mall, but the romances, friendships, rivalries, murders, business dealings, and bankruptcies that led to its infamous reputation and inevitable downfall. With stories spanning the course of 7 decades, 6 different owners, and a singular dream, a picture of Oasis Mall's legacy can finally begin to be painted. But as it dwindles closer and closer to liquidation, a lone question remains. Can a place like Oasis ever be saved?

About me!  I'm fear itself, aka Ryland! i've worn a lot of hats in my life, but right now my focus is my writing. (any visual artists wanting to collaborate on that writing should hit me up) in recent years i've taken up interest in the perservation and documentation of old television (including the programming, bumpers, and commericals), dying malls/retail, and themed entertainment. it's my dream to work in any of these industries, or bringing these industries into the creator economy. combining the staying power of digital content creators, and the storytelling capabilities and mass reach of classic television, physical retail, and themed entertainment experiences such as theme parks is in my opinion, the next major step in the foundation of the creator economy. i'm really bad at networking but i'm hoping to meet the right people to make things happen :)
